Happy Whipped Cream Day!
The bell tinkled off the walls of the tiny bakery as Mom and
I stepped through the door. Heat and
lemon hugged us further in to the store.
Cases glittered and paraded their golden pies, succulent tarts, and decadent
cakes past our eyes.
“How can I help?” came a voice from the kitchen.
“We’re in the market for a lemon tart.”
“We’re fresh out for today, but give me five minutes and
I’ll cook one fresh for you.”
“Oh no…don’t trouble yourself….we’ll come another day, but
for the moment we’d love a cup of hot chocolate…..Do you happen to have opulent
amounts of whipped cream?”
“Whipped cream? Yes, we have whipped cream.”
“Well apparently it’s whipped cream day and we need to
celebrate!”
“HAHAHAHAHHAAH! I suppose there’s a holiday for just about
everything. Give me just a moment.”
* Moment *
“Wonderful! Before you put those caps on….would you mind
taking a photo of my mother and me to document this festive occasion?”
“Oh yes of course!”
*Hand over dinosaur
camera phone”
“I’m sorry…what do I push. I’m not sure how these operate.”
“Yeah…It’s a Dumb Phone.
Push the button just there.”

“Many thanks indeed! Have a good day! Happy Whipped Cream
Day!”
* Bell tinkle *
