Happy Groundhog Day
I woke up extra early today to watch the great Punxatawney
Phil emerge from his stump and predict spring or winter. I thought, “It’s 2013! This is the luckiest
year of all time…of course there’s going to be spring!” What a blessed moment when that fuzzy bucktoothed
fellow woodchucked into the ears of the portly gentlemen and the following
scroll read aloud:
Hear ye
Hear ye
Hear ye
On this February 2, 2013… Punxatawney Phil, King of the
groundhogs, seer of seers, prognosticator of prognosticator, weather prophet
without peer, was awakened from his burrow at 7:28 am with a tap of the
President’s cane. Phil was lifted from his burrow by his handler and greeted by
his tens of thousands of faithful followers. Phil was gently placed upon his
oak stump and nodded a happy Groundhog Day to his fans around the world. Surrounded
by his Inner Circle awaiting either six more weeks of winter or an early
spring. Phil, with his keen weather eye,
gazed a quizzical search to the western Pennsylvania skies. Phil and President Dealy conversed in
groundhogese, and Phil directed him to the chosen prognostication scroll. The
President tapped the chosen scroll, directed Phil’s prediction to be
proclaimed. By noon of entrance is a sight to behold, like my faithful
followers strong and bold. And so ye faithful, there is no shadow seen! An
early spring for you and me.
Later, I ate my firt hotdog (groundhog….hotdog….kinda
similar right?) from Jonnies Beef! Fantastic! And I watched Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. If I
wake up tomorrow to Babe, I Got You Babe…I
am in trouble
I’ve always wanted to celebrate Groundhog Day, but I always forget! Ah! Spring! See….I knew it was going to be a good year!
